The courses in the chemistry curriculum are designed to provide individuals with creative and analytical insight into the involvement of chemistry in the world.
The major also provides the opportunity to enter graduate, pharmacy, or medical school as well as to become a part of the largest scientific profession in the United States. The Chemistry major earns either a B.A. or a B.S. degree.
The chemistry major at Lenoir-Rhyne offers two tracks: a Classical Chemistry track allows students to evenly study all branches of chemistry, while the Biochemistry track is more tailored towards the chemistry of living systems and is an ideal choice for students looking to pursue employment or graduate/professional training in a health-related field.
Note: students interested in applying to medical, physicians assistant, or dental school can major in Chemistry following our Pre-Medical recommendations. More Info about Pre-Med »
